BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Taelar Errington scored four goals as Campbell fell for the first time this year at home, 14-7, to Davidson.

The Camels (5-5, 1-2) outshot the Wildcats (6-5, 2-0) 27-23, but could only put 13 on frame.

Mary Leonard put Davidson on the board just 13 seconds after the opening draw, and the Wildcats never gave up the lead, following with three more goals in eight minutes.

Errington ended the run in the ninth minute off an Erica Hitch assist to make the score 4-1.

The teams continued to trade goals for the remainder of the half, as Errington notched two more and Maddy Dolinar scored one for the Camels.

After Emily Cooke scored with two seconds to go, Davidson took the 9-4 lead into intermission.

The Wildcats came out of the break firing, as Ann Fucigna put Davidson in double digits 19 ticks into the second half to go ahead 10-4.

Dolinar and Errington strung together two back-to-back goals, the only run CU pieced together, closing the gap to 10-6 with 17:17 to go.

Davidson answered with three straight, increasing its lead to seven, 13-6 with less than eight minutes left.

Erica Hitch netted the final CU goal of the night with 4:55 on the clock. Katherine Rueger tallied one more for the Wildcats with just over a minute left to bring the final score to 14-7.

Brittany Kincer finished with three saves in 55 minutes of work. Merredith Bechler took over the cage for the final five minutes of play.

Campbell had the edge on Davidson for ground balls, 22-14, and committed 14 turnovers to the Wildcats' 18.

The Camels wrap up their three-game homestand Friday at 3 p.m., hosting Winthrop on Senior Day.
