CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina closed the first half on a 25-4 run and went on to defeat Campbell 81-57 Thursday night at The HTC Center.

Elijah Wilson came off the bench to lead four Chanticleers in double figures with a season-high 20 points, 17 in the first half.  Seniors Warren Gillis (17) and Josh Cameron (16) reached double digits in their final home game, while Shivaughn Wiggins added 14 for Coastal (20-8, 11-5), which is only one-half game out of first place in the league standings.

Andrew Ryan led Campbell (9-19, 3-12 Big South) with 20 points on a trio of three-pointers and 9-of-10 from the line.  D.J. Mason added 13 points and Curtis Phillips 12 for the Camels, who have dropped their last four outings.

Ryan enters Saturday's 4 p.m. contest at home against Charleston Southern with 995 career points, only five shy of becoming the 26th player in Camel senior college history to reach 1,000 for his career.

Coastal hit 7-of-8 threes in a 25-4 run over the last 7:53 of the first half and led 47-23 at the break.  Cameron knocked down three triples, while Wilson and Gillis made a pair beyond the arc in the span.  After Mason's trey brought CU within 22-19 with 8:41 left in the period, the Camels did not score from the field (0-for-9) again in the half.

The Chanticleers produced their highest-scoring period of the season by hitting 16-of-24 (.667) shots overall, 8-of-11 (.727) from 3-point distance.

Campbell opened the second period on an 11-2 burst, keyed by a pair of treys from Phillips and one from Ryan.  Phillips' free throws cut the margin to 58-45 with 11:25 to play, but the Camels were unable to trim the margin further.

On the night, the defending Big South champs shot 54 percent (27-50) from the floor, made 8-of-16 threes and hit 19-of-32 from the line (.594).  Coastal finished with a 41-23 edge on the boards and a 24-6 advantage on points in the paint.

Campbell made 9-of-30 threes (.300), but shot just 31.3 percent (15-48) from the field overall and 18-of-24 from the stripe (.750).
