BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Justin Hill struck out eight and Clay Dungan went 3-for-3 to lead Indiana State past Campbell 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium.
ISU moved to 10-5 with the win, while Campbell dipped to 7-9.
Indiana State scored three in the fourth inning, leading off with three straight doubles and capping it off with a Chris Ayers sacrifice fly.
Campbell loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, getting on the board when a Michael Van Degna sacrifice fly scored Matt Parrish, who was hit by a pitch to begin the stanza.
Dungan, who went 3-for-3 for the Sycamores in the win, drove in an insurance run in the sixth, scoring Kaden Moore to make it 4-1.
Campbell left the bases loaded in the second and fourth innings, stranding nine total for the game.
Justin Hill (3-0) picked up the win, working five innings with eight strikeouts, five walks and a run on three hits. Jeremy McKinney picked up the save, his second, pitching two scoreless with two strikeouts and a walk.
Michael Horrell (1-2) was charged with the loss, allowing three runs on five hits with a strikeout. Erik Dowse worked four scoreless innings for the Camels in relief, fanning three and walking one with two hits.
Moore also went 2-for-3 with a RBI and two runs for the Sycamores in the win.
Parrish paced Campbell at the plate with a 2-for-3 day, scoring a run.
