BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Canisius took advantage of four Campbell errors and evened its weekend series with a 7-4 win Saturday at Jim Perry Stadium.
CU (5-5) committed errors on the first three at-bats of the game, allowing Canisius (3-7) to score three runs in the top of the first without a hit.
Adam Tricario knocked in three for the Griffins in the win, going 2-for-4, including a two run, two out single in the top of the sixth, and a RBI base hit in the eighth. Anthony Massicci also scored twice for Canisius.
The Griffins picked up their first hit of the day in the third, a one out Massicci double. He scored a batter later on Ryan Stekl's RBI groundout, making it 4-0.
Adam Wyse and Kyle Prats sparked the Campbell bats in the home half of the inning. Wyse singled with one out and Prats tripled to put the Camels on the board. The left fielder then scored on a wild pitch to bring CU within two before Tricario's two run single in the sixth restored the Canisius lead.
Campbell scratched runs in the sixth and seventh on Jimmy Monaghan and Ben Calvano RBI singles.
