BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell posted season highs in hits and runs and Grant Yost tossed his second straight complete game to down Gardner-Webb 17-4 Saturday, clinching the Big South series.
Campbell (18-15, 5-3 Big South) collected 17 hits, topping its previous season high of 16, set in Friday's win over the Bulldogs (22-12, 2-6). The Camels took the series opener 10-4.
The series concludes Sunday with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
Yost (4-2) went the distance, allowing four runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks in the win. Seven of the righty's career-best 10 strikeouts came looking, including his first five. Gardner-Webb picked up its first base runner of the game with a walk to lead off the fourth.
Anthony Lopez went 3-for-5 with four RBI to pace the Camels' attack, doubling in a run in the fourth and belting a three-run homer in the seventh, his third of the season.
Justin Lamazares went 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season coming in the fifth, a two run shot that also plated Drew Butler. Butler went 3-for-4 with a RBI and two runs.
Kevin Barron also homered in the win, a pinch hit blast in a five run eighth for his first career round tripper. Junior Snow was 3-for-5 with a RBI and three runs.
After posting five runs in the opening frame of Friday night's win, Campbell put up a four run first with a pair of hits, aided by three Bulldog errors.
Paul Trick went 2-for-4 with a RBI for the Bulldogs.
Following the game, the team shaved their heads in support of the Vs. Cancer Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts.

Campbell continues its home stand April 15-17 against Liberty.
The Camels' April 13 and 20 games against Elon and North Carolina Central have been canceled due to schedule conflicts.
