ELON, N.C. – Elon pounded out 14 hits to top Campbell 14-2 Tuesday night at Latham Park.
Elon moved even to 25-25 on the season, while Campbell fell to 24-23 overall.
The Phoenix led 2-1 after three innings, but tallied a nine run fourth on eight hits and a Campbell error, sending 13 to the plate in the frame.
Derek Pike (1-0) pitched three innings in relief with a run on three hits, two strikeouts and two walks.
Elon starter Nick Beaulac worked four innings with a run on four hits, three strikeouts and a walk in a scheduled short start. Kellan Elsbury and Chris Hall combined for the final two scoreless frames for the Phoenix.
Wes Noble (1-4) took the loss, going 3 1/3 with eight runs, seven earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Tyson Messer tossed four innings with five runs, four earned, with three strikeouts. Phil Stokes tossed the final two outs, allowing a run on a hit.
Tyler McVicar went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored for the Phoenix. Nick Zammarelli, who's inside the park home run in the bottom of the fifth made it 12-2 Elon, was 2-for-4 with a RBI and three runs.
Kyle Jackson and Brett Guba both went 2-for-4 with a RBI, while Austin Leeney knocked in two.
Kyle Prats was 2-for-3 with a walk for the Camels, driving in a run in the third on his second single of the night. The redshirt senior outfielder also scored a run in the fifth on Jimmy Monaghan's double.
Junior Snow also picked up a double and scored a run for the Camels in the loss.
