BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Marcus Burk, a 6-foot-3 guard from Indianapolis, Ind., has signed an athletics grant-in-aid with Campbell University, men's basketball head coach Kevin McGeehan announced Tuesday.

Burk will join the Fighting Camels this summer after leading Franklin Central High School to four-straight sectional titles.

"Marcus is a really good player, one who provides tremendous shooting ability along with a college ready basketball body," said Campbell head coach Kevin McGeehan.  "He is a worker, someone who is constantly seeking to improve. He is also a first class person who will represent CU well."

As a senior, Burk averaged 25.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.1 steals and was named to the five-member IndyStar Super Team, plus the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Senior Supreme 15 all-state team.  He was also chosen to the All-Marion County team.

A two-time all-conference selection, he shot 41 percent (91-of-224) from 3-point range and scored 30 or more points eight times, including a 36-point effort (including 8-of-13 threes) vs. Evansville Reitz in the 4-A regional playoffs.

During his junior year, Burk averaged 19 points, five rebounds and two assists while making 40 percent of his three-pointers.

Burk joins forwards Austin Burnette (Raleigh, N.C.) and Damontez Oliver (Glen Allen, Va.) and guard Cory Gensler in the 2015-16 Fighting Camel recruiting class.  Campbell returns three of its top five returning scorers from a team that finished 12-18 last season and earned a win over Conference USA member Charlotte, while going 2-0 against Southern Conference members.  Chris Clemons, the 2016 Big South freshman of the year, returns after ranking seventh among the nation's freshman scoring leaders (18.5), along with senior guard Kyre' Hamer (9.5) and junior forward Shane Whitfield (7.6).
