Getting To Know Aimee Fish

Aimee Fish, a junior from Hendersonville, N.C., is in her second season with the Campbell cross country and track & field programs. At the Upstate Invitational last month, Fish set a PR of 19:31 at the 5K distance to place 49th for the Camels. Fish competes in the 1500m, Mile, 3000m and 5000m on the track for CU. The Nursing major earned Big South Presidential Honor Roll accolades for both cross country and track & field for the 2016-17 academic year.

Why did you decide to compete in track & field: I love running and pushing myself to be better and faster.
Who was your greatest influence growing up: My mother. She is the strongest person that I know.
Other sports played: Basketball
Favorite professional track & field athlete: Emma Coburn
Favorite track & field event to watch: 1500m and Mile
What is your favorite memory during your track & field career: My first collegiate race –  the 3000m at JDL
What professional track & field athlete would you like to compete with: Jenny Simpson because she is an amazing marathon runner and seems to always push herself.
Which professional athlete would you most like to meet: Steve Prefontaine because I want to know what he was really like, not what everyone said he was like.
What do you like to do in your free time: Go hiking or shopping
What is something that your teammates may not know about you: I have double-jointed fingers.
