BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Chattanooga handed Campbell just its second Southern Conference loss of the season, defeating the Camels 27-6 Saturday in Carter Gym.

Chattanooga moved to 8-7 on the season and 6-1 in SoCon matches, while Campbell finishes the regular season 8-8 in dual outings, including a 5-2 conference mark.

The Mocs claimed 8-of-10 bouts on the day, including major decisions at 125, 165 and 184.

UTC built a 10-0 lead before Zach Barnes put Campbell on the board with a 5-2 decision at 149.

At 141, Chattanooga's Mike Pongracz moved to 6-0 in conference outings with a 7-4 decision over previously unbeaten Jonathan Ryan (5-1). Campbell's Quentin Perez, who also came into Saturday's contest with a 5-0 mark in SoCon matches, fell to Chad Pyke by an 11-3 major decision.

At heavyweight, No. 29 Jere Heino finished the regular season with an unblemished 7-0 SoCon record, defeating Chattanooga's Connor Tolley by a 6-0 decision.

The 2018 SoCon Championships will be held March 3 in Charleston, S.C.
