BUIES CREEK, NC - Campbell (1-3) claimed the doubles point but East Carolina won five out of six singles matches to secure a 5-2 win over the Camels at the Nisbet Tennis Center Saturday afternoon (Feb. 3).
Alexandra Andrivot and
Isabel Boada paired to take a 7-5 decision over the Pirates' (2-1) Lisa Hofbauer and Celia Ruiz to open doubles play. The duo's win pushes their doubles win total to 2-0 for the spring season.
Ana Castillo and
Georgina Segarra took a 7-5 win over Alisa Diercksen and Maria Gomez to claim the singles point for the Camels who competed in their second game over a three day stretch. Saturday's doubles win for Castillo and Segarra improves their record to 3-0 for the spring season.
Campbell's sole win on the singles side came from
Lou Regen who defeated Diercksen 4-6, 7-5, 10-4. Regen's win pushes her record to 2-1 on the season.
Campbell returns to action Wednesday, February 7 at home against Coastal Carolina. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. The match has the possibility of being moved due to weather. Follow
