Andrivot and Segarra shine in senior day sweep over NC A&T

Campbell has now claimed five sweeps on the season

BUIES CREEK, N.C. ­- Alexandra Andrivot and Georgina Segarra both claimed wins in singles and doubles action on their senior day as Campbell swept North Carolina A&T 7-0 Thursday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
 
Campbell (11-7, 5-2 Big South) picked up their second consecutive sweep and their fifth of the season as the Camels did not drop a single matchup on the day.
 
Senior, Georgina Segarra clinched the match at No. 6 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kinisha Chawla directly followed by a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 for Alexandra Andrivot.
 
Segarra's win marked her second consecutive win and improved her overall record to 10-5 on the season including a 7-4 mark at No. 6 where she has been solid all year. Over her last 10 matches, the Spaniard has produced an 8-2 mark.
 
Andrivot's win marked her seventh on the season as a part of a 6-5 record at No. 2.
 
The Camels opened the match by sweeping doubles action kicked off by Lou Regen and Lea Cutura who claimed their third straight win with a 6-2 decision over Angelica Martinez and Kanishka Chawla at No. 3. The pair jumped above .500 with the win and now holds an 8-7 record on the season.
 
Alexandra Andrivot and Isabel Boada then clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Sheyla Ramirez and Khalia Powell at No. 1. The duo now sports a 10-3 mark on the season and have won two consecutive matchups.
 
Ana Castillo and Georgina Segarra closed out the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 2 over Nadia Hilton-Adams and Renata Ruiz. The pair holds a team high in wins with a 12-5 record including an 11-5 mark at No. 2.
 
Lou Regen also picked up her sixth consecutive win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Angelica Martinez at No. 3. The sophomore has been solid at No. 3 all season and sports a 11-4 record at the respective court.
 
Alexandra Nicoara claimed another solid win en route to a Campbell victory with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4. She has now won four of her last six appearances.
 
Isabel Boada closed out the Campbell sweep with a 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 win over Renata Ruiz at No. 5. With her win, Boada evened her record at No. 5 to 4-4 on the season and has won two consecutive matches.
 
Campbell closes out conference play on Sunday as it travels to the mountains to take on UNC Asheville. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. against the seventh placed Bulldogs. CU then winds down the regular season on the road at Charlotte on Wednesday April 11 before the start of the Big South tournament.
