BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Campbell University swimming posted top-times in each event on Saturday against North Florida, earning a 130-70 win on CU's annual Senior Day.
The win moved Camels' overall record to 9-3, while improving their CCSA record to 6-1.
Campbell opened the meet by going one-two in the 400-medley relay. The team of Megan Everritt, Taylor McMinn, Maddie Baiotto and Sarah Wilson swam a 3:55.88, finishing just before Julia Sherlock, Skyler DeWall, Madison Scott and Hannah Kendall's time of 3:59.69.
The Camels went one-two in the 200 free (Annie Sanchez, 1:53.71; Neringa Cerniauskaite, 1:58.79) and the 100 back (Sherlock, 59.25; Everritt, 59.29), while finishing one-two-three in the 200 IM (Maggie Whitman, 2:15.63; Kelsey Tunstall, 2:16.72; Amanda Charleston, 2:16.76) and the 100 fly (Baiotto, 56.61; Scott, 57.01; DeWall, 58.86).
In the 50 free, Wilson took first place in 24.56, while Everritt took third place in 25.47. Kendall took first place in the 100 free with a mark of 53.31, while Cerniauskaite finished third (54.17).
Campbell took first and third place in the distance events as Megan Shoemaker won the 1000 free by swimming a time of 10:49.86 before Ema Balcuite's third-place time of 10:58.80. Sanchez claimed the 500 free in 5:10.45, while Shoemaker took third in 5:19.35.
In the 100 breast, McMinn swam a 1:05.86 while DeWall posted a time of 1:09.11. In the 400-free relay, Campbell's A Squad of Sanchez, Cerniauskaite, Kendall and Wilson collectively finished in 3:32.24.
Next weekend, Campbell will travel to Lynchburg, Va., to face Liberty and Marshall in a two-day meet from Jan. 25-26.
