HAMPTON, VA. –
Katarina Gagnon set a new Campbell record in the 500 freestyle Thursday night, highlighting day two of the 2026 CAA Swimming & Diving Championships at the Hampton Aquaplex.
Gagnon posted a time of 4:55.83 in Thursday's finals, breaking the Camels' 15-year-old record, previously held by Cheriesse Campbell (4:57.40), who set the mark at the 2011 CCSA Championships.
Gagnon took ninth in the event, topping the consolation finals.
Campbell stands in seventh place in the team standings after two days of competition with 173 points. William & Mary sits in first place with 552 points, followed by UNCW with 493 points and Towson with 408.5 points. Rounding out the team standings are Northeastern (342), Drexel (284.5), Stony Brook (203), Campbell and Monmouth (153).
UNCW, meanwhile, leads the men's standings with 292.5 points and holds a narrow lead over second-place Towson with 283.5 points.
The Camels also took fifth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:49.44.
