Radford sweeps Campbell 3-0

BUIES CREEK, N.C. Campbell University volleyball was swept by the Radford University Highlanders, 3-0 (22-25, 25-27, 18-25), on Saturday afternoon inside Gore Arena.

The loss was Campbell's third-straight setback, dropping Campbell to 7-5 in conference play and 13-12 overall, while Radford improved to 9-15 and 5-7 against league opponents.

Madee Miner helped pace the Campbell offense and defense, collecting 14 assists and 10 digs for her team-high seventh double-double this season. Emily Mitter also finished with double-digit assists, dishing out 10.

Sarah Colla put down a match-high 13 kills and senior Allena Heath, who Campbell honored before the match as part of Senior Day, posted seven kills in her final home contest. Melody Paige added four kills.

The Campbell defense was again led by Elyse Gross, who recorded 13 digs. Heath finished the match with nine digs.

Radford combined for 17 team blocks, led by Mackenzie Meehan's seven assisted blocks. Stephanie Neast paced the Highlander offense with 11 kills while committing just four errors for a .292 hitting percentage.

Campbell will end the regular season next weekend by traveling to UNC Asheville and USC Upstate. The Fighting Camels take on the Bulldogs in Asheville, N.C., on Friday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. before a Saturday, Nov. 16 match in Spartanburg, S.C., against the Spartans at 6 p.m.

After the conclusion of the regular season, the top six teams in the final standings will meet in Rock Hill, S.C., for the 2019 Big South Volleyball Championship hosted at the Winthrop Coliseum on the campus of Winthrop University. The single-elimination tournament is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Nov 22-24. The top two seeds will receive byes into the semifinals.

All quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be carried on ESPN+, while the championship contest will be available on ESPN3. The winner of the tournament will receive the Big South Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
