Campbell defeats NC Central in a 7-0 shutout

DURHAM, N.C.-Your Fighting Camels made a huge comeback today with a 7-0 sweep to beat the NC Central Eagles. This marks Campbell's third win of the season, giving them a 3-4 overall record.
 
The team opened the match with two wins in doubles play to take the lead. Lucile Pons and Isabel Boada paired to claim the first win to beat NCCU's Maru Berghaus and Ivana Dragovic 6-4. Campbell doubles partners Pauline Roustan and Inma Ramon followed with the second doubles win to take the doubles point beating Sofia Miller and Emily Pena 6-2.
 
Pons, Roustan, and Ramon all posted 2-0 overall records for the match. Castillo opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 against Berghaus, and CU teammate Lea Cutura followed with a singles win as well to beat Hannah Gaines 6-2, 6-2. Alexandra Nicoara clinched the match for the Camels with a 7-5, 6-1 in in singles play against Sofia Miller at No. 3.
 
Lou Regen notched the fifth singles win for Campbell against NC Central's Frida Cnossen. Roustan earned her second win of the day to beat Dragovic 6-1, 6-1 before Pons ended the game for Campbell with the final singles win, a score of 7-5, 6-1 against NC Central's Polina Sakharova.
