BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Goals from 11 different Camels, plus six assists from
Annie Pazulski powered Campbell over visiting Wofford 21-6 Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium.
The win marked Campbell's (1-3) first of the season, while evening Wofford's record to 1-1. The 15-goal margin of victory was Campbell's largest since defeating Gardner-Webb 22-6 on April 15, 2017.
The win also gave Campbell head coach
Dawn Easley her 100
th career victory. In her sixth season in Buies Creek, Easley coached at Pfeiffer from 2009-13.
Pazulski paced Campbell with a game-high seven points on six helpers and a goal, while senior attacker
Ellie Allen posted a career-high four goals. Freshman
Laura Will also added a season-high four scores for the Camels, while
Melissa Placek tallied her first hat trick of the season with three goals, adding an assist.
Morgan Hollenbeck and
Mackenzie Kolesar added two goals apiece, while
Sam Carey netted a score to go along with two ground balls and a caused turnover. Kolesar tacked on two assists, while four Camels, freshmen
Maggie Dolan,
Sam Luby,
Courtney Hanson and
Alexis McDaniel, scored their first career goals.
Rose Prizzi picked up a team-high three ground balls with two caused turnovers on the defensive end.
Julia Markey and
Amanda Chasin also caused two Terrier miscues in the win.
Lexie Patton added three saves.
Sophie Smith led Wofford with three goals and three ground balls, while Elisabeth Ralph notched three points on two scores and an assist. Kelsey Thompson, meanwhile, snagged 10 saves.
Campbell controlled the draw 18-10 on the day, including a 15-1 margin in the first half to help the Camels lead Wofford 15-1 at the break. CU also owned a 38-12 advantage in shots for the game, along with a 17-10 edge on ground balls.
Next up, Campbell will travel to Mercer on Sunday, March 3, beginning a four game road trip. The Camels come back to Buies Creek on March 23, hosting Mount St. Mary's.
