Campbell tops Elon 4-3

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-CU earns their second straight win, beating Elon today 4-3. This marks their third home match victory of the 2019 season.
 
The Camels snagged the lead early in the day when Lucile Pons and Lea Cutura paired in doubles and claimed a 7-5 win over Elon's Uma Nayar and Nicole Shaiu. CU clinched the doubles point thanks to partners Isabel Boada and Inma Ramon who defeated Phonenix doubles partners Suzanne Zenoni and Olivia Archer 7-5.
 
Lou Regen kicked off doubles action and notched the first singles win over Elon's Suzanne Zenoni with a score of 6-4, 6-2. Pons followed with the next singles win over Alex Koniaev, beating the Phoenix 6-2, 6-3. The junior from France ended the match with a 2-0 overall record for the Camels.  Alexandra Nicoara finished off singles action for CU with a 6-0, 1-6, 6-3 win against Elon's Nicole Shiau.
