BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb claimed the doubles point and four singles matches in a 5-2 win over Campbell Friday to end the Camels' six-match win streak.
Bastien Huon and
Ondrej Labik extended their win streak in doubles to five matches, but the nation's 68th-ranked tandem of Maximilian Scholl and Millen Hurrion claimed the decisive victory at the top spot over Campbell's
Dustin Werner and
Raphael Calzi.
Gerard Sola and
Fernando Clemente earned straight-sets victories for the Camels at the fourth and sixth singles positions, respectively. However, the Bulldogs (4-5, 1-0) secured the match with three-set wins at the third and fifth spots.
Campbell (7-4, 1-1) continues its weekend road swing Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. first serve at Presbyterian.
