FARMVILLE, VA-The Women's Team secured a 5-2 victory today over Longwood in Farmville, VA.
Today's conference win places the Camels at 3-3 for conference play and 9-9 overall.
The Camels secured the doubles point to set the tone early for the match. Duo
Lou Regen and
Ana Castillo claimed the first doubles win by defeating Longwood doubles partners Marija Venta and Anika Tylek 6-3. Campbell pair
Inma Ramon and
Pauline Roustan clinched the point with a final 6-1 decision over Emma Nurgazieva and Crystal Nzewi. Both Ramon and Roustan both posted overall 2-0 records for today's match.
Castillo notched the first win of the day in singles action when she posted a 6-1, 6-3 mark over Yulia Almiron. Ramon came in second with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win of her own. Roustan kept the momentum up for the Camels when she clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win, beating Longwood's Nzewi.
Lea Cutura closed out the match for Campbell when she defeated Jamie Breunig with a mark of 7-5, 5-7, 6-1.
