BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Talia Douglas scored in the top of the seventh for Radford as the Highlanders defeated Campbell 1-0 to avoid elimination in the Big South Softball Championship Tournament.
Douglas opened the final frame by reaching on a throwing error and advancing to second on the throw.
After a sacrifice bunt moved her over to third, Destiny Freeman put the ball in play to second base and Douglas came into score ahead of the throw to help the Highlanders (25-33) advance to day three of the tournament.
Abby Perryman drew a one out walk in the bottom of the seventh and was replaced by
Hannah McCravy who advanced to second on a wild pitch but she was stranded there as a part of four Camels left on base over the course of the game.
Jessie Marvin (13-15) went the distance and picked up the win by allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out one.
Megan Richards (15-13) suffered the loss after allowing four hits and just one run – unearned – through seven complete.
Bri Bryant extended her hit streak to 10 straight games with a single to center field in the third.
Campbell closes out the 2019 season with a 26-28 overall record which included a 14-9 mark in conference play.

Sharonda McDonald led the squad who produced six different All-Big South honorees.

Abby Perryman, and
Kynadi Tipler tabbed First Team All-Big South honors while
Megan Mozingo garnered Second Team All-Big South recognition and
Claudia Ware was named to the league's All-Freshman Team.
Abby Perryman was also placed on the All-Academic team for her work in the classroom.
