MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Campbell softball dropped the final game of the Holy City Showdown, 3-0, to tournament hosts College of Charleston Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point.
Campbell ends the weekend with a 10-10 record overall while Charleston moves to 10-9 on the season.
Charleston 3, Camels 0
Charleston scored runs in the fourth and fifth innings as the Camels dropped the weekend finale of the Holy City Showdown, 3-0.Â
Campbell would put runners on in the first two innings to no avail. The third inning saw the Camels load the bases as Charleston's Carli McCants walked three batters in the inning. McCants was relieved by Chandler Sparkman who picked up a strikeout to closeout the inning.
The Cougars responded to the Camels threat in the following inning, scoring two runs on consecutive hits to centerfield. Charleston added its third and final run of the day in the fifth on a RBI single through the right side of the field.
Brittany and Alondra Vicary each went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Cougars while Lexee Emanuel added another RBI and scored a run.
The Camels ended with four hits on the day behind a 2-for-2 showing from Mackenzie Parker. Destini England and Katelyn Chisholm also tallied hits while Claudia Ware earned four walks in four of her appearances at the plate.
Sparkman (2-3) picked up the win for Charleston, allowing two hits and striking out five in 4.1 innings. Georgeanna Barefoot (5-4) pitched another complete game for the Camels, striking out seven batters.

Campbell will head down to Louisiana for a midweek matchup against nationally-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette before heading to the LSU Round Robin tournament on Friday and Saturday.
