EMMITSBURG, MD. – Mount St. Mary's posted 10 second half goals to pull away from visiting Campbell 18-7 Wednesday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium.
The Mountaineers improve to 4-1 on the season, while Campbell falls to 1-6 overall.
Mount St. Mary's converted 5-of-6 free position shots while picking up 14 of the game's 20 ground balls in the win. Jordan Butler was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free position, totaling nine points in all on five goals and four assists.
Erin Anderson tacked on four goals off the bench, with Alayna Pagnotta adding three goals for the Mountaineers. Kate Kinsella also posted two goals and an assist, with eight different Mountaineers notching goals in the win.
Beanie Colson registered eight draw controls, three ground balls, a caused turnover and a goal, while Jenna Oler collected 11 saves.
Megan Matthews paced Campbell with a season-high three goals.
Julianna Sanchez and
Sam Carey added two goals apiece, with Sanchez snagging six draw controls. Carey also caused two turnovers, while
Alex Salim made six saves with two ground balls.
The Camels return to Barker-Lane Stadium on Saturday, March 7, hosting Bucknell. Following the game, Campbell will host a free lacrosse clinic, open to all children 12 and under.
