CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Tied at 15-all, Chris Kober and Taye Ghadiali helped visiting Campbell close out Virginia 21-15 Saturday at the UVa Aquatic and Fitness Center.

The Camels (3-1) defeated the Cavaliers (2-1) for the first time in program history, handing UVa its first loss of the season.

With the Cavaliers up 12-9 after No. 19 Justin McCoy's tech fall at 165 pounds, No. 16 Austin Murphy put CU back on top, 15-12, with a first period pin (2:52) over Krystian Kinsey. Michael Battista tied it at 15-all with a decision at 184 for UVa, but Kober edged Ethan Weatherspoon 4-2 in extra time at 197 to give Campbell an 18-15 advantage heading into the day's final matchup.

Ghadiali, ranked No. 29 at heavyweight, and No. 18 Quinn Miller wrestled to a 2-2 deadlock by the end of the third period, but Ghadiali's riding time point sealed the road win.

Campbell led 9-3 after No. 16 Josh Heil's 4-2 win over No. 29 Jarod Verkleeren, one of two ranked matchups on the day, both won by Camels. Korbin Meink at 125 and Shannon Hanna at 141 also earned decisions for CU.

The win marked CU's first over an ACC foe since topping Duke in 2013.

Campbell travels to No. 14 North Carolina (2-2) tomorrow in a 7:00 p.m. dual at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, N.C. The dual will be CU's third already this season against a nationally ranked foe.
