HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. –
Josh Heil won the 149 pound division at the Matmen Open, leading three Campbell wrestlers to finish on the podium Thursday at The NOW Arena.
Heil, currently ranked No. 10 in the country in his weight class, went a perfect 4-0 over the two day tournament, created to take place of the canceled Midlands Championships. The sixth year senior yielded only four points in the tournament, topping No. 11 Austin Gomez from Wisconsin 3-1 (SV-1) in the title match.
Heil opened Wednesday's action with a 9-1 major decision over Rutgers' Al Desantis, then moved on with a 3-1 decision (SV-1) over Northern Illinois' Anthony Cheloni. He punched his ticket to the finals with a 5-1 decision over Rutgers' Anthony White (unattached).
The four-time NCAA qualifier is now 8-0 on the season with five wins over ranked opponents.

Chris Kober and
Levi Hopkins. The CU duo both went 2-2 in the event to match up in the seventh place match, where Kober claimed a 6-1 decision.
