Lynchburgh, Va. – After one day of action and five events, Campbell sits in fifth place at the CCSA Championship with 257 points.
The morning session held the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free prelims. Across those three events, 12 Camels qualified to come back for the finals in the evening, with six in the 200 IM, four in the 50 free, and two in the 500 free.
The evening kicked off with the 500 free.
Erica Losey clocked in at 5:09.59 for a 15
th place finish. Just behind her was
Avery Rogers at 5:10.50 to come in at 17
th.
In the ensuing 200 IM,
Maialen Sudupe led the Camels, coming in 14
th at 2:06.55.
Kristine Mikkelson also picked up points in 17
th at 2:09.16.
In the night's final individual event, the 50 free, three Camels placed to earn points.
Colleen Renshaw claimed Campbell's highest individual finish of the night with a 7
th place finish at 23.44.
Annie Sanchez grabbed 10
th at 23.62 followed by Neringa Ceriauskaite at 24.08.
The 800 free relay wrapped up the night and resulted in Campbell's best finish of the day. The team grabbed third place in 7:32.52.
Day two of the championship begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. with more prelims. Tuesday will hold the 400 medley relay, 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 200 free relay.
