BUIES CREEK - Led by Chloe Cook's 16 kills, Campbell ended its 2020-21 regular season with a three-set sweep over Radford Friday afternoon inside Gore Arena.
Claranne Fechter closed out her freshman campaign with a season-high 26 digs as Campbell (11-5) overcame close calls in the first two sets against the Highlanders (3-13).
Facing a 24-21 deficit in the first set Campbell rallied behind Madee Miner's service ace followed by a bad set by the Highlanders in the next point. Cook and Lailah Green each recorded kills for the final two points to give the Camels a 27-25 set win.
Both sides traded points back and forth in a closely contested second set. A solo block from Melody Paige and another Cook kill led Campbell to a 30-28 win. The Camels carried momentum into the third set, dispatching Radford 25-20.
Green finished the match with her sixth double-double of the season behind 15 kills and 12 digs. Campbell totaled 52 kills and 70 digs as a team, both season-bests in a three-set match.
Before the start of the match, Campbell recognized its seniors Hannah Schneggenburger and Alysha Mitchell. Schneggenburger earned a start, totaling a season-best four kills.
Kennidi Johnson led the Highlanders with 5 kills and a .385 hitting percentage while Grace Green provided four aces and 15 digs.
Campbell concludes the 2020-21 regular season with an impressive 7-1 record at home, winning all seven of its matches in straight sets.
