GREENVILLE, N.C. – Campbell extended its win streak to eight matches Saturday with a 4-2 victory over East Carolina at the River Birch Tennis Center.
The Camels (13-7) won the doubles point for the seventh time in the last eight contests before winning three singles contests to close out the dual match decision.
Rhona Cook and
Mialy Ranaivo dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 1 doubles to end their 8-match win streak. However,
Marissa Pennings and
Abbie Tyler won 6-3 at the second position, while
Mariana Ossa and
Sandra Gines claimed a 6-1 result at No. 3.
Cook won 6-1, 6-2 at the top singles position, while Pennings did not lose a game at No. 2 and ran her record to 15-5 on the spring, 12-1 in her last 13 matches. Ossa registered a 3-set victory at the fifth position to provide the decisive point.
Campbell closes out Big South regular season play Sunday with a 12:00 p.m. first serve at Longwood.
