SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Elyssa Nowowieski scored the game's lone goal in the 69th minute and Stephanie Martelli recorded her second shutout of the season Thursday to lift Campbell to a 1-0 win over Wofford at Snyder Field.
Winners of its last three, Campbell improves to 3-3-1 on the season while Wofford falls to 3-3-1.
Olivia Neal had the first opportunity on goal for the Camels, hitting a volley off the crossbar in the 24th minute.
Nowowieski added another attempt on goal in the 32nd minute as the Wofford keeper collected her strike.
Both sides entered halftime nearly even on shots with the Terriers owning a slight 5-4 edge.
Jackie Richards assisted on the goal, driving down the left side of the field and crossing it into a crowded box where Nowowieski netted it into the goal.
The Terriers' best attempt on the night was on a shot by Caileen Almeida in the 74th minute. Almeida struck from distance and ricocheted the ball out of play off the crossbar.
Wofford owned an 11-7 advantage on shots but Campbell earned a 4-0 edge on corner kicks.
Stephanie Martelli picked up her second shutout of the season, making five saves in goal.
The Camels have a full week of rest before hosting UNCW next Thursday, Sep. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
