BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell will close out the first half of its 2023-24 schedule this weekend, traveling to the Liberty TYR '85 Invite. Action begins on Thursday, November 16, running through Sunday at the Liberty Natatorium.
The meet will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a long course meters session. This will give swimmers the opportunity to pursue qualification for the 2024 Olympic Trials.
Action continues each day with morning prelims at 10:00 a.m. On Friday and Saturday, finals will start at 6:00 p.m., while Sunday's finals session is at 5:00 p.m.
Competing in the invitational includes Air Force, Saint Francis (Pa.) and California (Pa.) in addition to the Camels and the Flames.

Last season, Campbell won the TYR '85 Invite, overtaking the host Flames on the final day. Campbell finished with 2,721.50 ahead of Liberty (2,597.50), Saint Francis (1,533), and California (Pa.) (907).
Campbell grabbed an individual win and two of the top three spots in the 200 back when
Angelica Ragazzoni and
Laura Lopez took first and third, respectively. Ragazzoni's time of 2:00.43 was good for the top spot. Six Camels earned a spot in the A-Final during the morning prelims.
The Camels again grabbed two podium spots with
Colleen Renshaw and
Meredith Ashburn taking second and third in the 100 free. Renshaw touched 0.11 ahead of Ashburn with a time of 51.26.
Last time out, East Carolina claimed the first six events and held on to top Campbell 155-101 at the Johnson Aquatic Center. The Pirates topped 11 total events in the win, edging the Camels by less than a second in both the 1000 free and the 100 fly.
In the 1000 free, Danielle McCarthy's 10:35.13 just held off Kat Gagnon's time of 10:35.22. The 100 fly was also decided by .14, with Sara Kalawska's mark of 57.75 edging
Meredith Ashburn's time of 57.89. Ashburn claimed Campbell's first win of the afternoon, posting a 23.79 mark in the 50 free, while
Lauren McLean topped the 400 IM with a time of 4:37.83.
The Camels also closed the match with a win in the 200 free relay, turning in a time of 1:37.09, with a unit of Ashburn,
Elishka Hajek,
Angelica Ragazzoni and
Laura Lopez.
Following Sunday's events, Campbell will have a break from competition until January 13, hosting the Flames in its final home meet of the season.
