Camels sweep day 2 of Camel Stampede

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell (9-5) swept day two of the Camel Stampede, picking up wins over Rider (1-3) and Ohio (3-8).
 
Camel Stampede Day 2 Results
 
9:00 A.M. – Rider 5, Wagner 2
11:30 A.M. – Rider 1, Campbell 5
2:00 P.M. – Ohio 5, Campbell 2

The game between Ohio and Campbell completed one inning before being delayed. The game resumed at 6:00 p.m. The game between Duke and Wagner that was scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. has been canceled. The schedule for the rest of the Camel Stampede is as follows:
 
Sunday, Feb. 26
 
10:00 a.m. – Rider vs. Wagner 
12:00 p.m. – Duke vs. Ohio
2:00 p.m. – Duke vs. Campbell

Game one – Campbell defeats Rider, 5-1
 
The Fighting Camels scored a run in both the second and third innings, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. 
 
Lindsey Hunt went 2-3 at the plate for the Camels with a run scored and two RBIs.
 
The Broncos scored their only run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly from Chaela Crowder.
 
Jesse Niegocki (0-2) led the Broncos at the plate going 3-4. She also pitched three innings allowing two runs on three hits and walking four, receiving the loss.
 
Isabella Smith (6-3) highlighted the game pitching a complete game allowing only one run on five hits and striking out 12 earning the win. 
 
Game two – Camels take down Bobcats after rain delay, 5-4
 
The Fighting Camels came back from a three hour rain delay and scored four runs in the fourth inning courtesy of two Bobcat errors. Campbell added another run in the sixth on another error committed by Ohio. The Bobcats committed a total of four errors in the game. 
 
Allyiah Swiney went 1-3 with a run, an RBI, and a stolen base for the Camels. Swiney also made a spectacular sliding catch to end the top of the sixth inning stranding a runner at third and the tying run at second. 
 
Alexis Dawe tripled in the seventh for Ohio scoring Annalia Paoli. Dawe later scored on a wild pitch cutting the deficit to one.  
 
Dawe was 2-4 on the night with two RBIs and a run. Paoli was 3-4 with one RBI and two runs. 
 
Kayla Howald (1-2) picked up the win pitching 5.2 innings allowing one earned run on six hits while recording four strikeouts. Isabella Smith (1) earned the save pitching 1.1 innings allowing two runs on two hits and striking out two batters. 
 
Skipp Miller (2-3) received the loss tossing 6 innings allowing three earned runs on four hits, walking two and striking out three.
