NINETY SIX, S.C. –
Henrik Lilja finished fifth individually and Campbell placed fifth in the final team stroke play standings after Tuesday's final round of the Big South Conference men's golf championship at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.
Radford, Winthrop, Longwood and Charleston Southern advanced to Wednesday's match play semifinals. The match play champion will receive the Big South's automatic berth in the NCAA regionals.
A graduate student from Gothenburg, Sweden, Lilja completed his final tournament at Campbell at one-over par 217 (72-71-74). Senior
Edwin Blomander (72-75-72—219) tied for 10th at 3-over par on the Davis Love III design.
Freshman
Tim Holmberg finished T33 (76-74-81—231) and senior
Alejandro Cogollo was T35 (76-73-83—232). Sophomore
Douglas Nordlof returned to the lineup Tuesday and shot a one-over-par 73.
Radford's Bryce Corbett won individual honors at 4-under par (75-66-71—212), one shot ahead of Charleston Southern's Ben Carroll (72-71-70—213). Lilja earned a place on the all-tournament team along with Corbett, Carroll, Charlie Barr of High Point and Longwood teammates Brendan Dunphy and Nick Rakes.
