FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood scored four runs in the sixth and earned a 7-4 win over Campbell in a back-and-forth game Sunday at Lancer FIeld.
Campbell falls to 38-15 and 15-5 in Big South play while the Lancers improve to 29-19 and 15-5 in conference play.
Longwood joins Campbell as conference regular season co-champions after finishing with the same record (15-5) in league play. The Lancers earned the top seed for the Big South Championship while Campbell will be seeded second.
The Camels went up 2-0 in the first after Tyra Parker scored on an error and Claudia Ware recorded a sacrifice fly. The Lancers got one back in the first and took a 3-2 lead in third on a sacrifice fly from Lindsey Hay.
Savannah White knotted the game in the fifth with a RBI single to right center. Two batters later, the Camels took a 4-3 advantage after Parker drove in a run with a single to shallow center.
Longwood captured the lead again in the sixth as Jaden Pone, Kaylee Devivi and Karlee Anderson drove in runs.
Isabella Smith (26-9) took the loss in the circle for Campbell while Er'ron Burton (9-9) took the win for the Lancers.
Campbell heads to Radford, Va. later this week for the Big South Championship. The four team tournament is set to begin Thursday as the Camels face third-seeded USC Upstate at 1:00 PM.
