MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Campbell wrestling fell to #10 Minnesota, 44-0, Sunday afternoon at Maturi Pavilion.

The result dropped the Fighting Camels to 1-4 in dual matches this year, with three of those losses coming against teams ranked in the top 10. The Golden Gophers moved to 3-0 with their second consecutive shutout.

The match began at heavyweight featuring the two highest ranked wrestlers for both teams. No. 1 Gable Steveson earned a tech fall over No. 7 Taye Ghadiali with four seconds remaining in the bout.

Anthony Molton recorded the closest decision in the match at 125 pounds. He scored a first-period takedown against No. 14 Cooper Flynn, but Flynn fought back and recorded the 5-4 decision over Molton.

The result at 125 pounds would be the lone non-bonus point win for Minnesota. They scored consecutive major decisions at 133, 141, 149 and 157 pounds. A fifth major decision was scored at 174 pounds, sandwiched between tech falls at 165 and 184 pounds.

The dual ended with a forfeited match at 197 pounds.

Campbell has significant time off before its next action at the Knockout Collegiate Classic on December 21 in Kissimmee, Fla. The Camels will look to return Dom Baker and Eugene Harney to the lineup, as well as welcome Levi Hopkins back to the mat for his first action of the season.
