BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Through two days of competition at the 2024 CAA Swimming & Diving Championships, Campbell stands in seventh place in the team race.
Campbell owns 176 team points through the first half of the championships at the Hampton Aquaplex, just behind Drexel's 228. Delaware took the slim lead in the team standings on day two with 484.5 total points, overcoming UNCW's 472.5.
Northeastern has also collected 412 points, followed by William & Mary's 408 and Towson's 350. Monmouth (138) and Stony Brook (135) round out the field.
On the men's side, UNCW leads with 304.5 points.
Two Camels advanced to the 50 free finals, with
Meredith Ashburn finishing fifth with a time of 22.94, narrowly missing the podium and her own school record, while teammate
Elishka Hajek placed 18
th with a time of 23.61.
After qualifying for Thursday night's finals with a time of 2:05.85, taking seventh in heat 1 of the 200 IM, CU's
Laura Lopez trimmed her time to 2:05.11 in the finals, finishing 19
th overall.
Campbell also placed seventh in the 400 medley relay, clocking in at 3:44.64.
