CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston overcame an early 2-0 deficit, topping visiting Campbell 5-2 on Friday at Patriots Point.
The Cougars moved to 8-3 overall, while Campbell fell to 8-5, ending a three-match win streak, and closing its trip to Charleston with a split, driving past Samford 5-2 yesterday.
The Camels earned the doubles point with the duos of
Mialy Ranaivo and
Eeva Ristola, and Lily Chatambar and Tasmin Hart claiming 6-1 and 6-2 victories.
Lena Karlovcan then led off singles action with another CU win, defeating Elle Bredemann 6-1, 6-4.
The Cougars won five of six singles matchups, with three of those contests going to three sets. Halli Trinkle clinched the contest for CofC with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over
Eeva Ristola.
Next up, Campbell will face another CAA opponent, traveling to Elon on March 15.
