ELON, N.C. – No. 7 seed Campbell opened CAA Championship play with a 4-0 win over No. 10 seed Towson on Thursday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
The Camels improved to 12-8 on the season, while Towson's season comes to an end at 6-11 overall. With the win, Campbell moves on to face No. 2 seed William & Mary on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the CAA quarterfinals.
Campbell picked up the doubles point, with
Mariana Ossa and
Lily Chitambar topping Mya Spencer and Ashira Murray 6-2.
Lena Karlovcan kicked off singles competition, defeating Sania Suchinsky, who retired after Karlovcan's 6-2 opening set win.
Lily Chitambar followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Chandre Boshoff.
Mialy Ranaivo, meanwhile, clinched the match, defeating Mya Spencer 6-1, 6-4.
