No. 63 UNCW edges Camels 4-3

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Jordi Domenech's three set win lifted No. 63 UNCW over visiting Campbell 4-3 on Friday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks moved to 11-5 overall with the win, while Campbell dropped to 9-7 on the year.

After UNCW clinched the doubles point with Gabe Hurtado and Trey Mallory's 6-1 win, Benjamin Maes evened the dual with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Bekhzod Rasamatov.

Trey Mallory (6-4, 6-2) and Gabe Hurtado (7-6, 6-2) extended the UNCW lead to 3-1 with one of three, three set contests on the afternoon, before Lukas Steffen's 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 win over Reece Falck. Domenech clinched the match for the Seahawks, edging Pol Otin 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 before CU's Damien Nezar gave the match its final score with his 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Harold Huens.

The Camels will be back in action on Saturday at home, hosting Presbyterian at 1:00 p.m. at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

Following this weekend's action, the Camels will host the College of Charleston on Wednesday, April 10 in their home and regular season finale. The CAA Championship will begin on April 18.
