Camels fall to UNCW in game one of the CAA Championship

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Camels (34-20-1) dropped game one of the CAA Championship to UNCW (31-20) 2-1. 

UNCW scored in the first inning after Skylar Stockton hit an RBI double. The Camels tied the game in the third inning after Tyra Parker hit an RBI single that brought in Allyiah Swiney. Mary Sobataka hit a home run in the seventh inning to bring the Seahawks ahead. 

Swiney compiled three hits, while Charlie Montgomery and Parker had two hits, and Delaney McDilda had one.

Emily Winstead (13-6) was credited with the win after pitching 7.0 innings, allowing eight hits, one earned run and six strikeouts. 

Isabella Smith (23-7) was charged with the loss after pitching 7.0 innings, allowing six hits, one earned run and eight strikeouts. 

Up Next

The Camels will play Hofstra for game two of the championship at 12:30 PM. The loser of the 10:00 AM game (UNCW or Delaware) and the winner of the 12:30 PM game will play at 3:00 PM.
