BUIES CREEK - The CAA has announced the 2024-25 men's basketball conference schedule. The Fighting Camels begin the 18-game slate on Jan. 2, and will play through the season finale on Mar. 1.
"We are looking forward to year two in the CAA, what an outstanding league this is!" head coach
Kevin McGeehan said. "Getting an opportunity to compete in the Boston, New York, and Philadelphia areas is great for our program. Couple that with an amazing home schedule including College of Charleston, Drexel, Towson, Monmouth, and Hofstra along with local rivals UNCW, Elon, and NC A&T. This will be great for our fans with such high quality opponents visiting Gore Arena."
The schedule is laid out in the same fashion as last year, with games on Thursday and Saturday each week, typically with both at home or both on the road.
As previously announced, Campbell will host home-and-home series with UNCW, Charleston, Elon, NC A&T, and Hofstra. The Camels will also host Drexel, Monmouth, Towson and William and Mary in Gore Arena, and make road trips to Delaware, Hampton, Northeastern, and Stony Brook.
Campbell went 8-10 in its inaugural CAA campaign, and split eight of the nine conference weekends.
Campbell will begin the new year and conference slate in Buies Creek against Drexel on Jan. 2, before heading down the road to UNCW on Jan. 4.
CU stays on the road the following weekend facing Hampton (Jan. 9) and Elon (Jan. 11). Campbell's first full home weekend sees the Camels welcome in Charleston (Jan. 16) and Monmouth (Jan. 18).
The Camels then make the trip north for the program's first-ever visits to Stony Brook (Jan. 23) and Hofstra (Jan. 25).
Campbell has its longest homestand of the year with four straight home games across two weekends. Things begin against William & Mary (Jan. 30) and Hofstra (Feb. 1), and continue with two in-state rivals Elon (Feb. 6) and NC A&T (Feb. 8).
Following the homestand Campbell faces three straight on the road. The Camels head to Boston to face Northeastern (Feb. 13), and work their way back to the state with a stop at Delaware (Feb. 15). The Camels wrap up the road trip the next Thursday at NC A&T (Feb. 20) before returning to The Creek to host Towson (Feb. 22).
The final weekend of the season pits Campbell against a pair of rivals, hosting UNCW on Feb. 27 and visiting Charleston to close out the season on Mar. 1.
Select games throughout the schedule have the potential to be flexed to Monday night. Those games along with the full streaming schedule will all be announced by the CAA before the start of non-conference play.
The full non-conference slate, in addition to those already announced at Virginia, Ohio State, and North Carolina, will be announced in the coming weeks.
"Stay tuned for a great non-conference schedule which will help prepare us for what is an always highly-competitive CAA." McGeehan said.
All game times will also be announced closer to tip-off of the season opener.
This year's Jersey Mike's CAA Championship returns to the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington D.C. Mar. 7-11.
