BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling won its seventh dual in a row in dominant fashion, defeating Davidson 47-0 Friday night in Carter Gym.
The Camels improved to 8-7 over and 4-0 in SoCon duals, whereas the Wildcats are now 3-10 (1-3 SoCon).
CU had control of the action from start to finish, recording 16 takedowns and not giving up a single takedown to Davidson. The Camels also combined for 22 near fall points.

Logan Heckert followed with a second-period pin against Josh Lange. The win was Campbell's first win at 184 pounds in a dual this season.
Team captain Levi Hopkins and freshman Landon Sargent followed with first-period pins over Brett Sanderlin and DJ Spring II, respectively. The big guys both improved to 4-0 against SoCon opponents.

QUOTABLE
Assistant Coach Josh Heil
"We're getting a ton of guys in the lineup and continuing to dominate. The last few weeks we have been preaching 'dominate', and tonight was a perfect example of our training and preparation. From start to finish, we wrestled tough. We need to continue this upward trend!"
197 Levi Hopkins
On the team's performance tonight:
"It was good. We had a lot of guys in the lineup that hadn't seen the starting spot, so it was good for them to come in and get a home win. I always like wrestling in Carter Gym because it's close quarters and the whole environment it was. It was a lot of fun."
On wrestling third in the lineup:
"I like wrestling wherever, but if I get to wrestle in the beginning, it's really good because I can wrestle quick, get my match out of the way and I can be more emotionally invested in the other matches. Normally I'm towards the end of the dual, and in a lot of scenarios it will be close, so I try to lock in and maintain my composure throughout the dual. Getting to wrestle early and able to get loud and excited for the other matches is a lot of fun."
