CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Anthony Molton took home third place, and Shannon Hanna and Wynton Denkins each took fourth, as Campbell wrestling finished competition at the Southern Scuffle hosted by UT-Chattanooga at McKenzie Arena.
In addition, Dom Baker finished in seventh place and Levi Hopkins finished in fifth on Sunday evening at the conclusion of the two-day event.
As a team, the Camels finished in sixth place with 86.5 points. They finished behind Army (132.5), Oklahoma (126.5), Penn State (126.5), North Carolina (91) and North Dakota State (90.5).
Sunday began with three wrestlers, Molton, Hanna and Denkins, all in the semifinals of their weight divisions. Each lost in overtime before bouncing back and winning their consolation semifinal matches.
Molton defeated the No. 4 seed Antonio Lorenzo from Oklahoma in the third-place bout, his second victory over a top four seed at the Scuffle.
Hanna took fourth place at 141 pounds after a 4-2 weekend. Denkins also finished in fourth place, after narrowly dropping the third-place match to the No. 1 seed Willie McDougald (Oklahoma), 5-3 in the second tiebreaker.
Baker won a high-scoring decision against Oklahoma's Mannix Morgan in the seventh-place bout, 18-12.
Hopkins closed the weekend for the Camels with a 15-4 major decision against UNC's Cade Lautt in the fifth-place bout at 197 pounds.
