MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - Charleston defeated Campbell 6-1 in both team's CAA opener Saturday afternoon at the Turner Tennis Center.
In doubles action, Charleston's Mattia Bernardi and Jake Sweeney defeated Campbell's Thomas Drapeau and Matias Lofink, 6-2. Alexander Fragasso and Luke Tollenaar battled hard against the Charleston duo of Jake Smith and Eddie Vo, but ultimately fell 7-5 as the Cougars claimed the doubles point.Â
Adi Dagan came away with the lone singles win for the Camels, defeating Matias Gaedechens 6-4, 6-4. Aleksandar Hudjec took Charleston's Vo to a third set but came up short, falling 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Lofink also took his singles match to a third set, dropping the opening set 6-3 before winning the second 6-1 and falling 6-3 in the final set.Â
Campbell is back in action next Saturday at Gardner-Webb.
