STATESBORO, GA. - Campbell won the second game against Fairfield 9-1, but fell to Georgia Southern 3-2 in extra innings.
Game One – Campbell tops Fairfield, 9-1
The Camels were hot offensively in their second game against Fairfield. Allyiah Swiney and Devin Davis started it off in the fourth inning hitting RBI singles, and Livie Davis hit an RBI sacrifice fly that brought in Swiney. The Camels scored six runs in the sixth inning, with Charlie Montgomery hitting an RBI single, DeSena hit a three RBI single, and Hannah Cornetto and Swiney hit RBI doubles.
The Stags scored one run in the sixth inning after Anna Paravati hit an RBI single.
Emily Dameron picked up the win after pitching five innings and allowing two hits, no runs and one strikeout.
Peyton Shields was credited with the loss after pitching 3.1 innings and allowing six hits, three earned runs and one strikeout.
Game Two – Camels fall short to Georgia Southern, 3-2
Emma Slutzah gave the Camels their first run in the fourth inning after hitting an RBI single up the middle, bringing in DeSena. Faith Barth hit an RBI single for the Eagles, tying the game in the sixth inning. In the eighth inning, DeSena hit an RBI sacrifice fly that brought in Montgomery. Madi Gillespie hit an RBI single for the Eagles to tie the game.
Kyla Maxwell hit an RBI double in the ninth inning, which won the game for the Eagles.
Cassiti Baroni was credited with the loss after pitching 2.1 innings and allowing two hits, no earned runs and no strikeouts.
Maddie Johnson was credited with the win after pitching all nine innings and allowing seven hits, one earned run and six strikeouts.
