GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG picked up the doubles point and won four singles matches to earn a 5-2 win over Campbell Wednesday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
Campbell (5-10) earned the first doubles win as Alexander Fragasso and Luke Tollenaar defeated UNCG's (7-9) Andrew Black and Devon Moskowitz 6-2. The Spartans drew even as William Elmers and Luke Thomson defeated Adi Dagan and Aleksandar Hudjec 6-3 and eventually clinched the doubles point as John Gaelic and Tymofiy Khrystyuk defeated Thomas Drapeau and Matias Lofink 7-6 (7-3).
The Spartans picked up wins at No. 1 singles as Khrystyuk defeated Drapeau 6-1, 6-4 while Gabelic earned a 6-0, 6-3 win over Dagan at No. 2 singles.Â
Tollenaar brought the Camels closer with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Thomson at No. 3 singles before the Spartans clinched the match as Moskowitz knocked off Hudjec 6-1, 7-6 (7-6) while Black defeated Fragasso in a thriller 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7). Lofink picked up another point for the Camels with a hard-fought 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 win over Elmers at No. 6 singles.Â
Campbell heads to Francis Marion on Saturday for its final road match of the season at 2 PM.Â
