BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell wrestling team competed against a strong national field at the 2026 Southern Scuffle over the weekend, highlighted by a sixth-place finish from redshirt freshman
Anthony Ferrari at 165 pounds and a strong consolation run by sophomore
Kendrick Hodge at 157.
Ferrari led the Camels with a 4-3 record, reaching the quarterfinals with back-to-back falls before working through the consolation bracket to secure sixth place. Hodge finished 4-2 at 157, rebounding from an opening-round loss with four consecutive victories, including a major decision and a sudden-victory win, before his run ended in the consolation round of eight.
Campbell also earned individual wins from
Colby Crouch at 125 pounds,
Logan Heil at 133 and Sawyer Van Rider at heavyweight, totaling 11 individual victories over the two-day event.
UP NEXT
The Camels travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa, for the National Duals Invitational on Jan. 9-10. The event will feature teams from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA programs, and will stream live on FloWrestling.
