BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell wrestling team completed the first day of the Southern Conference Wrestling Championships on Friday at Kimmel Arena on the campus of UNC Asheville in Asheville, N.C.

Three Camels advanced to the semifinals with first-round wins in graduate student Logan Heil at 133 pounds, redshirt junior Brant Cracraft at 184 pounds and redshirt freshman Sawyer Van Rider at heavyweight.

Also advancing, senior Zander Phaturos at 141 pounds and redshirt senior Conor Maslanek at 197 pounds will compete Saturday morning in the consolation semifinals for a chance to earn third place in their respective weight classes.

Phaturos and Maslanek each picked up wins on the day to stay alive in the tournament, with Maslanek recording the quickest victory for the Camels, a fall in 47 seconds. Graduate student Ryan Bolletino also earned a first-round win before dropping his next two bouts.

The consolation semifinals are set to begin at 10 a.m., with the finals to follow at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available through FloWrestling, and matches can be streamed on ESPN+.
