BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team recorded its sixth shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory over N.C. A&T on Friday night at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
The Camels were held scoreless until the bottom of the third inning. Campbell produced its only two hits of the game in back-to-back fashion. After junior
Livie Davis was hit by a pitch and stole second, freshman
Kylie Specht delivered an RBI single to left-center to score the game's first run. Graduate student
Amber DeSena followed with a single, but Campbell was unable to add to its lead in the inning.
Campbell added an insurance run in the sixth. DeSena drew a leadoff walk and stole second. Senior
Allyiah Swiney lifted a pop-up into foul territory, allowing DeSena to tag up and score.
Freshman
Katelyn Hubley led the Camels in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout to earn her 11th win of the season. She matched her career high with 10 strikeouts while allowing just two hits, both singles in the third inning. Hubley threw 62 strikes among her 93 pitches.
Campbell improved to 8-2 in CAA play.

Campbell and N.C. A&T continue the series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon, followed by the finale at 2:30 p.m. An Easter egg hunt on the field will follow the second game.
