Softball falls in CAA Championship semifinals

ELON, N.C. – The Campbell softball team's 2026 season came to a close on Friday with losses to No. 5 College of Charleston and No. 1 Hofstra at Hunt Softball Park.

GAME 1 – Campbell 0, Charleston 6

Campbell was limited to two hits as Charleston defeated the Camels 6-0 in the opening game of the third day of the CAA Championship.

It was a pitcher's duel through the first three frames as freshman Katelyn Hubley traded blows with Charleston's Mackenzie Mathis, each collecting five strikeouts across the opening three innings. Hubley recorded a perfect third inning, collecting three swinging strikeouts in order against the Cougars.

Charleston flashed its base-running prowess in the fourth to score the game's first run. After both teams went down in order in the fifth inning, the Cougars went off for five runs in the top of the sixth on two multi-RBI hits.

Hubley finished with six strikeouts and two earned runs across 5.2 innings in the loss.

GAME 2 – Campbell 0, Hofstra 3

Campbell's season came to a close as the Camels fell to the No. 1 seed Hofstra, 3-0.

Hofstra scored in three separate innings, beginning with a solo home run in the third inning. The Pride added another run in the fifth on an RBI bunt single before lifting a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to make it 3-0.

Campbell put runners in scoring position in four consecutive innings from the second through the fifth but could not break through offensively.

Junior Kasey Wolfe battled in the circle, recording three strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work.
