BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Isaac Ray, a 2020 Campbell University graduate and former student-athlete, returned to his alma mater as the Director of Development for Athletics on August 31, Vice President for Institutional Advancement John Latteri has announced.
 

"As a Campbell alumnus and former Fighting Camel student-athlete, Isaac knows firsthand what makes this University such a special place," Latteri said. "He has a deep appreciation for Campbell's mission and a genuine passion for the people who make our community so unique. Those qualities, combined with his talent for building meaningful relationships, make him a tremendous addition to our Advancement team." 
 

In his new role, Ray will oversee the Fighting Camel Club's operations, including managing membership benefits and administering the Club's annual fund; assisting with fundraising for scholarships for student-athletes, operating expenses, and special capital projects; and assisting with various alumni events.

"Campbell is a special place, and I am thrilled to be back in the Orange and Black supporting our outstanding teams and student-athletes. I am eager to connect with our fantastic alumni and fanbase as we continue to push Campbell Athletics forward, creating a high-level student-athlete experience on and off the field of competition." 
 

Ray joined the Fighting Camel staff after serving as Director of Athletics Communications at Eastern Kentucky University from November 2023 to August 2026. He oversaw all communications responsibilities for EKU Athletics and served as the primary media contact for EKU Football and Cross Country/Track & Field. 
 

With the Colonels, Ray helped generate $50K in new sponsorship revenue through digital and earned media growth and developed a digital fundraising marketing campaign that generated over $150,000 in new funds for the football program annually.  He led storytelling initiatives, feature writing, and various creative content campaigns, increasing social media engagement by 82 percent through strategic content and digital storytelling.
 

Prior to EKU, Ray was the Assistant Athletic Director at Texas A&M–Kingsville, where he led a full rebrand of Athletics that drove significant growth in digital engagement and fan interest. He managed communications, marketing, web strategy, broadcasting, alumni relations, and special events while directing coverage for 18 Division II programs. 
 

Ray also brings experience from Florida State University Athletics, where he supported major national championship-level events and served as the primary statistician and secondary media contact for the baseball program. 
 

His career in college athletics began at Campbell as a student worker and eventually graduate assistant in athletic communications, where he assisted with social media, statistics, and coverage of all athletic programs while serving as the primary contact for the softball team, which won the Big South Conference and advanced to the NCAA regionals in 2021. 
 

He did this while being a member of the Campbell Track & Field program as a pole vaulter from 2017-2020. 
 

He began his career in journalism, reporting for The Sun Newspaper in Hummelstown, Pa., where he produced in-depth community stories that sharpened his writing and storytelling skills. 
 

Ray holds a B.S. in Communication with a minor in sport business from Campbell (2020) and a Master's in Sport Management from Florida State (2022). 
 

He is married to fellow Campbell graduate Brittany Dudley; they have one son, Easton.
