2016-17 (Freshman): Finished with a 13-10 record, 9-6 in duals, and 4-2 in SoCon action… He picked up two wins by fall and three by major decision… His fastest fall came at 4:49 over Cameron Kelly (Ohio, 11/6), with his other fall win coming against Michael Hulcher (VMI, 3/4) at 5:39… Ryan went 2-2 at the SoCon Championships, falling to John Muldoon (SIUE, 3/4) by a 9-3 decision… He picked up three major decisions on the season: 9-0 over Roshaun Cooley (Clarion, 11/13), 13-5 over Ted Rico (Arizona State, 1/13), and 12-1 over Josh Markham (Old Dominion, 1/14)… 

Prep: Attended Dracut high school where he wrestled for Coach Mike Riley … As a freshman wrestling in the 106 weight class he was the D2 north section and state champion as well as the all-state champion … During his sophomore year he claimed the D2 north section and state champion title for the second year and was an all-state finalist at 120 lbs. … He followed up his sophomore year with another successful junior year as he took the D2 north section champ title, was a D2 state finalist and was the all-state champ at 126 lbs. … For his senior year, Ryan achieved champion status again at the 132 lb weight class … He was the D2 north section and state champion as well as the all-state champion and tallied a 50-2 record as a senior … He finished his high school career with the most wins in school history at 217 and only 26 loses …
